Work stuff

So my boss came by today and she said the cat was doing great! Super happy I’m not the only one thinking he’s doing better. She also said since I don’t have a second job they might give me over time instead of hiring someone else. WHAT? They don’t give ANYONE overtime! This is also the same boss that’s going to put me through a 4000 dollar class for *hopefully* free. (She’s trying to get me in for free)
Also found out an employee at this job was talking crap about me for not helping another employee enough yesterday. What she doesn’t realize is she/ and the other guy who even said he didn’t need help, are KENNEL ASSISTANTS, as the vet assistant here I have a lot more stuff to do in a day. As much as I miss it, I can’t spend every moment in the back kennels. I have medicine to give, papers to fill out, sick animals that need LOTS of attention. The kennel assistants can put dogs in the play yard and clean kennels by themselves every now and then. It won’t kill them. He knows that, but she seems to be struggling to grasp it.

I just had to break up with weirdest dogfight ever. I had our 4 chiwienies outside in a pen with a chihuahua we have. They’ve played together since day 1. They always have a blast. Or I thought.
Anyway, I hear a bunch of yapping and growling so I run to the door and all four of the chiwienies have the chihuahua cornered and they’re taking turns snapping at him while the others bark. Wtf? A knock on the door to get their attention, and one of the chiwienies jump on him and start trying to rip at his little throat! I broke them up and no one was harmed, but that was seriously so strange.

I’ve been the only vet assistant here at work all weekend and we have a very sick cat. (The boss and other vets assistants know this) they also know I’m very inexperienced with serious situations. I’ve never had to deal with something like this. I’m following instructions, but he looks like he still feels terrible. It’s making me so nervous because I don’t have someone who’s dealt with this here to say, yes the things we have set aside to do for him are working-keep it up. Or: no, it’s not working, try this.
:/ I feel awful for him. It’s making me sweaty and shakey.
Also, I’m still super upset about last night because I quit my other job and my “boss” was a dick about it.

Someone just put me out of my misery.

Having a pet is so weird. Like neither of you speak each other’s language and yet you form some strong bond by rubbing against each other and sleeping together and you might accidentally kick them in the face or step on their tail once in a while but at the end of the day you two are best buddies from entirely different species.

Young dogs can only stay in an hour for every year they are old! If that helps. Also try and get one they can see through, and have it in a room the owner is in. A few minutes at a time, don't let him out if he's barking etc. hope it helps!

I guess I should have been more specific.

The puppy has started taking things that aren’t his and running in his kennel and growling at people.
Also, if someone comes over, even if he knows them, he goes in his kennel and growls.

As long as he has no access to his kennel he doesn’t act that way, so I’m assuming this is some form of possessive kennel aggression.

*sigh*

*sigh*

One of the people who got a male pup from me is having some kennel aggression problems out of him. He’s making an appointment for a neuter, and I gave him a few tips, but I’ve never had this problem before so any advice is welcome! I’d love to be able to help him out some more!

I get Joan Jett bed head.

Baby sully. :) cutest pittie pup ever. He’s growing so quickly!
